Whether they impersonate a business or pose as someone offering to help, fraudsters are employing various tactics to trick consumers into sending information or money.
Below are 4 don’ts to remember to avoid falling victim to a fraud scam:
- Don’t share your online banking credentials or online banking security code. These should only be used by you and never forwarded to someone else.
- Don’t deposit checks that were digitally sent to you.
- Don’t trust the contact information from an unexpected email; always verify and research it first.
- Don’t ignore your gut. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
If you suspect you may have fallen victim to a scam or encountered any suspicious activity/requests, contact your local First Federal Savings Bank branch or our fraud department immediately at (812) 492-8200.
