Protect Your Finances – Essential Tips to Avoid Fraud Scams

Jun 5, 2024 | 1 Minute Read

Whether they impersonate a business or pose as someone offering to help, fraudsters are employing various tactics to trick consumers into sending information or money.

Below are 4 don’ts to remember to avoid falling victim to a fraud scam:

  1. Don’t share your online banking credentials or online banking security code. These should only be used by you and never forwarded to someone else.
  2. Don’t deposit checks that were digitally sent to you.
  3. Don’t trust the contact information from an unexpected email; always verify and research it first.
  4. Don’t ignore your gut. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

If you suspect you may have fallen victim to a scam or encountered any suspicious activity/requests, contact your local First Federal Savings Bank branch or our fraud department immediately at (812) 492-8200.
